Fruit – Green Mangoes

Day 18 – Yummy green mangoes

Last Sunday, I went with mum to do grocery shopping at Little Saigon in Footscray. This place is filled with great seasonal buys (mostly suited to the Asian population) at clearance prices when it is nearing the end of the day (say about 6pm). Green mangoes were only $1 a kilo…wow bargain in anyone’s terms. I love the place for cheap and fresh food. Not to mention they also have live seafood, fresh bread and other assortment of goodies.

The mango you see above was the last one left and I savoured every last bite. I wasn't a fan of mangoes of any variety until I came across the green version. Not too sweet yet not sour and to me it tastes just right and with a light crunch.

Now I think they have become one of my favourite fruits…:D
